We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities available at any given time, these could include:

• Event Support: set-up, clean-up

• Youth Events: transport and/or supervision

• Administration Support & Reception

• Kitchen Help

• Junk Removal

• Small Repairs

 

Students requiring volunteer hours for school credit are welcome to apply and indicate their hours needed on their volunteer form.

Important Note: All prospective volunteers will be required to undergo a criminal record background check. The proper criminal record check link will be given to approved volunteers to complete, and reimbursed by Wachiay.

We understand the value of community-based learning and periodically have the capacity to host practicum students and work placements. We have hosted students from a range of disciplines, including ECE/EA, Social Work/Social Services, Nursing, Law/Legal Services, and Administration.

How to Apply:

To apply for a practicum position, please email a brief statement of interest, preferred program or department, your resume, and your practicum outline including your learning objectives and time commitment to: hr.manager@wachiay.org .

Practicum supervisors and instructors are also welcome to reach out on behalf of their students to enquire about placement availability. 

​

Important Notes: 

• We cannot guarantee placement with a preferred program depending on other commitments or students in that program or department at any given time. We will communicate our availability to determine if placement is the best fit experience for each student.
